Mary Persons Football Facilities

The Mary Persons High School Football team is housed in an 8,000 square foot pre-engineered metal football field house that opened May 17, 2002. A partnership between the Monroe County Board of Education, BOE SPLOST revenue, the high school athletic department, and the Mary Persons Touchdown Club raised approximately $456,000 to construct and equip the facility.

The Field House is climate-controlled and includes dressing facilities with 64 wooden lockers in the varsity locker room and 31 lockers in the B-Team locker room. Full shower and restroom facilities are adjacent to each locker room. A full laundry is also housed in the building. Trophy cases, equipment storage, referees' room and small training room complete the building.

The head coach's private office adjoins a common space for 7 coaches' desks and a conference table. The assistant coaches' office includes technology equipment, 12 lockers, private shower, and restroom.

The weight-lifting area is over 2,500 square feet and includes 10 power racks with free weights. Additional equipment and support services are located in a separate building former used as the varsity field house. That building includes 2 whirlpools, 3 taping tables, ice machine, hydrocollator pads, 2 bicycles for rehabilitation, 1 treadmill, and a leg press.

Mary Persons High School has a full-time, certified athletic trainer who manages student-athlete injury prevention programs, wellness, and injury treatment using the athletic department's facilities.
